Mix the soul of Kravitz with the rhythm of the Chili Peppers and the energy of Garbage and what do you get? Four musicians from Detroit who love funk and rock ("funk & roll").
Carrie, Chris, Todd & Tom: Four writers, four musicians, and one agenda: Write original songs and funk the rock with an attitude like no one has since the prime days of George Clinton, Zeppelin, and Grace Slick.

Janet Jackson >>

Janet Damita Jo Jackson was born on May 16, 1966 in Gary, Indiana. She's the youngest of 9 children born to Joe and Katherine Jackson. Growing up in the Jackson family, Janet was aware of the lures of performance early on. JENNIFER PAIGE'S overnight success with her self-titled debut album catapulted her into the spotlight and spawned extensive international promotion and touring. After "Crush" went to Number 1 in seven countries around the world, including America, life changed. Jenny Owen Youngs >>

photo

Jenny Owen Youngs is a feisty, hyper-sensitive, disease-free singer/songwriter/former girl scout who wants to be your friend. Claiming influences from Beck to Jesus Christ Superstar to Britney Spears, her music is an echo of Erin McKeown hopping into Jeff Buckley¹s Pontiac, cruising backwoods Alabama red dirt roads and singing along to The Sundays and Nick Drake. Her songs straddle the heart-wrenching and the tongue-in-cheek and say giddyup.

Raised in the lush greenery of northwest New J...

Joana And The Wolf.... yeah it's like Peter and the wolf only the story is very different. She came closer to the wolf and said hey wolf can you teach me to sing that nice hooooowl. And the wolf said yes and asked her to open her pretty mouth, which she did and the wolf jumped in as if into a deep well. Since then, the girl wanders around with the wolf inside her and each time the moo...

Joy Enriquez >>

Joy Enriquez was singing before she could read. At her kindergarten graduation, she entertained the audience with a solo performance. It did not take long for the major labels to call. Enriquez however, was motivated by one lifelong ambition: to sing for one of her mentors, artist and producer B...

Joydrop >>

Being in a microcosm known as a "band" gives its members a unique perspective on people. On Viberate, Joydrop's sophomore album, the adventuresome rock unit exposes the strengths and weaknesses of human nature from the vulnerability of "Swan Song" to the resilience of "Thick Skin" and sheer disgust of "American Dream Girl."

After touring for the first time, logging over 300 shows in North America, the members of Joydrop -- singer Tara Slone, bassist Tom McKay, drummer Tony Rabalao and guitari...

Juliette and the Licks >>

"Thats why my music is so important to me, because its the antithesis of that, it breaks the mold." Such a statement should come as little surprise to anyone who has been caught up in the full heat and sweat of a Licks live performance, which has seen Juliette continuing to emanate the same elemental energy and disregard for convention shes done her whole life...
