In 1975, Enid Williams (Bass, Vocals) and Kim McAuliffe (Rhythm Guitar, Vocals), both from South London, formed an all girl Rock cover band called Painted Lady. After playing the local pub scene and numerous line up changes, Kelly Johnson and Denise Dufort came on board and in April of 78 they changed their name to Girlschool. Girlschool have toured with the likes of Motörhead, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and many other influential rock bands during their illustrious career. 2008 brings about the 30th anniversary of Girlschool and they are commemorating it with the release of their 30th Anniversary album entitled Legacy . Featuring a plethora of special guests, including Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath), Ronnie James Dio (Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Dio), Lemmy and Phil Campbell from Motörhead, "Fast" Eddie Clarke (Fastway, ex-Motörhead) and members of Twisted Sister, this record will surely show the true Legacy that is Girlschool.
