Blood Red Shoes consist of two people, Laura-Mary, who wishes she were Spanish, and Steven who wishes he were French, only they both live in Brighton on the south coast of England. After their previous bands ceased activity (Lady Muck and Cat On Form respectively) in late 2004 they got together for a jam for fun, Steven took up the drum kit and Laura-Mary played her guitar. It was loud for just two people. Soon after, Jonson Family Records of London offered to release a 7'' single, which sold out in a few weeks and got played on Radio One and XFM. Blood Red Shoes likes Babes in Toyland, Q and not U, cake, chocolate, childishness, Delta 5, zombies and horror, Nirvana, The Bangles, blood and gore, cups of tea, good shoes, dancing, knives, Huggy Bear, and being in a band.

The highly anticipated 2008 debut from this Brighton duo. The pair have recorded an album that embraces their plaudits and emerges resplendent in all its glory. Taking influence from the likes of Nirvana and PJ Harvey, Steven Ansell (drums/vocals) and Laura-Mary Carter (guitar/vocals) create a sound that can switch from lightning fast indie Rock 'N' Roll to soft Pop in a heartbeat. Catchy hooks and clever guitar patterns make this a great first outing for the band. 11 tracks including the singles 'You Bring Me Down' and 'Say Something Say Anything'. Mercury.
